2012 Sep 18
Hong Kong -  Sep 18, 2012 - Wharf T&T eBusiness Limited (“WeB”), an IT services subsidiary of Wharf T&T Limited, today announced the launch of WeB-eC Service, a total eCommerce solution for manufacturers and distributors to tap into global online market opportunities using a single e-marketplace platform.
The online shopping trend is on the rise due to the proliferation of Internet usage and the growing penetration of smart mobile devices, hence creating new business opportunity for e-marketplace.  According to Infographics by www.invesp.com, global e-commerce sales are growing by more than 19% a year and will be of almost US$1.4 trillion by 2015. Paypal’s research “Online and Mobile Shopping Insights Study” for the Greater China region released in December 2011 revealed that the size of the Hong Kong online shopping market has reached US$1.9 billion in 2011 and is forecasted to reach US$2.5 billion by 2015. Like never before, netizens in Hong Kong are embracing the benefits of online shopping and it is expected that there will be strong growth for online purchases, given the advancing security in online payment and the convenience as well as enjoyment brought by shopping online.
Undaunted by the economic challenges lingering from the global financial crisis, thousands of Hong Kong SMEs with manufacturing facilities in the Guangdong province are actively seeking new opportunities to develop online markets.  However, lack of relevant technical expertise to explore e-marketplace, higher costs for fulfillment logistics, as well as limited exposure to multiple markets are the impediments for SMEs to launch online business. WeB-eC Service is an ideal IT solution to help SMEs kick start e-marketplace with distinctive features:
 1. Simultaneous product listing in multiple eMarketplace
WeB-eC helps business customers create their on-line presence in the following ways:
a. Create their own store from a variety of store design templates with high-definition illustrations through a user-friendly content management system.

c. Business customers can also list their products in our US eBay account JecomGroup @TheWmall for overseas market exposure.  WeB will also extend its coverage to other countries including China in the coming future.
 2. Integrated IT platform
The WeB-eC System allows business customers to manage multiple eMarketplace through a centralized inventory management system.  The integrated CRM (Customer Relationship Management System) provides up-to-date information to manage customer enquiries, coordinate deliveries and order processing, which is an integral part of automating online business processes.
 3. One-stop customer service center for operation outsourcing and eFulfillment

"WeB is committed to the development of effective e-marketing solution to help businesses, SMEs in particular, reap the benefits of advance information technology and win in the competitive e-marketplace. The soaring rentals and unstable overseas orders trigger SME’s expansion to the borderless cyberspace world of business. The launch of WeB-eC Service signifies a turning point for Hong Kong businesses to penetrate into the online business arena and the hype is real,” William Kwan, Director and General Manager of WeB. “We are glad to have TPG, a leading e-commerce total solutions provider, as our logistics partner on eCommerce backend operation as we trust that excellent order fulfillment process is key to online marketplace success.”
